Viktoria Schwarz (born July 2, 1985 in Linz ) is an Austrian canoeist .

Career

At the age of 19, Schwarz won her first medal at the Canoe Racing World Championships in Zagreb in 2005. Together with her canoe partner Petra Schlitzer, she won the silver medal as a duo. Schwarz qualified with Yvonne Schuring for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing , where they finished ninth in the canoe competition .

At the canoe racing world championships in 2010 they won the bronze medal together in a two-man kayak over 500 m. In the following year, the duo achieved a sensation at the 2011 World Championships in Szeged : world champions and world record over 500 m in a two-man kayak. In 2012, as part of the Austrian delegation , they took part in the canoe races of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and achieved fifth place.

Viktoria Schwarz and Ana Roxana Lehaci , both from the Schnecke Linz association , have been part of a two- person kayak (K2) team since 2013 .

At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro , Viktoria Schwarz started in the K1 200 m discipline. In her third Olympic Games, she had to give up in the semifinals due to injury. 10 weeks earlier, Schwarz had broken her left shoulder in an accident.
