Youth Olympic Summer Games 2014 / Participant (Austria)
The Austrian Youth Olympic Team consisted of 33 athletes (15 girls / 18 boys) and 31 supervisors for the II. Summer Youth Olympic Games from August 16 to 28 in Nanjing ( People's Republic of China ).
Austria achieved a gold and a bronze medal.
Team facts
- Most of the athletes had four participants each in the areas of beach volleyball, cycling and swimming.
- Seven athletes each came from the federal states of Styria and Vienna , followed by Upper Austria , Lower Austria (5 each), Tyrol (4), Vorarlberg (3), Salzburg and Carinthia (1 each).
- Gymnast Ceyda Sirbu and athlete Ina Huemer (200 m) were the youngest at the age of 15, the oldest athlete was judoka Marko Bubanja, 18.
- With Michaela Polleres (judo), Ina Huemer, Dominik Hufnag (athletics), Sebastian Steffan (swimming) and Ceyda Sirbu (gymnastics) there were a total of five young athletes in "Team Austria", who had already participated in the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in the Netherlands Utrecht were there.
