Michaela Polleres (born July 15, 1997 ) is an Austrian judoka .

Life

Michaela Polleres lives in Neunkirchen , Lower Austria and fights for the judo club Wimpassing . She is a sports soldier at the Austrian Army Sports Association in the Army Sports Center in Seebenstein .

At the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing , she won the bronze medal for Austria in the class up to 63 kg. At the European Judo Championships 2018 in Tel Aviv she also won the bronze medal in the weight class up to 70 kg, in the decisive fight she defeated the Croatian Barbara Matic. In November 2018 she won the gold medal at the U23 European Championships in Györ in the class up to 70 kg.

In the election for the Lower Austrian Young Sportswoman of the year 2018 , she came in second behind Sarah Fischer .

At the European Games 2019 in Minsk , she won the bronze medal in the mixed team competition for Austria together with Stephan Hegyi , Sabrina Filzmoser , Bernadette Graf , Lukas Reiter, Marko Bubanja and Katharina Tanzer . In July 2019 she took third place in the class up to 70 kilograms at the Judo Grand Prix in Zagreb . At the Judo World Championships in Tokyo in 2019, she lost the battle for bronze to the British Sally Conway .
