Sabrina Filzmoser (born June 12, 1980 in Wels ) is an Austrian judoka and holder of the 5th Dan . So far she has led the European rankings up to 57 kg four times.

biography

Filzmoser started judo in 1988 . Ten years later she celebrated her first major international success when she won the European junior title. After graduating from high school , she signed up with the Austrian Armed Forces to devote herself entirely to judo. In 2001 she won her first military world title, which she has won five times. In 2003 she won her first European championship medal among women as third. In 2004 she suffered a herniated disc and narrowly missed qualifying for the Olympic Games in Athens . After the injury break, she quickly made contact with the world's best and was able to build on past successes. In 2005 she reached third place at the World Championships in Cairo . After the victory in Paris-Bercy in 2006, she was number 1 in the world rankings for a short time. In 2008 she won the European title. At the Olympic Games in 2008 and the World Championships in 2009, she was eliminated in the preliminary round. She won the silver medal at the European Championships in Vienna in 2010 and the bronze medal at the World Championships in Tokyo. With a final victory over Telma Monteiro , she won the European title for the second time in Istanbul in 2011. At the 2012 Olympic Games , she finished 7th.
