Three badminton competitions were held at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games in the Chinese metropolis of Nanjing .

The competitions were held at the Nanjing Sport Institute from August 17-22 .

qualification

mode

32 girls and 32 boys each started at the games. 28 athletes per discipline qualified on the basis of the world rankings, with only one starter per NOK , unless two players were in the top 4 of the world rankings. Each of the five continental associations was automatically given a starting place, as was the host country. The four remaining places were awarded by the Tripartite Commission.
