Austria took part in the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal with a delegation of 60 athletes, including 54 men and six women. The standard bearer at the opening ceremony was the canoeist Günther Pfaff .

Medals

The only Austrian medal success in Montreal was achieved by the marksman Rudolf Dollinger , he won bronze with the free pistol over 50 meters. Dollinger had already won bronze in this category four years earlier.
