Austria took part in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles with a delegation of 102 athletes, including 71 men and 31 women. The standard bearer at the opening ceremony was the sailor Hubert Raudaschl .

Medals

Austria won three medals in Los Angeles: Judoka Peter Seisenbacher won gold in the men's middleweight division, while his colleague Josef “Pepi” Reiter won bronze in the half-lightweight division. It was the first Austrian medal successes in judo. The set of medals was completed by a silver medal that Andreas Kronthaler won in shooting with an air rifle.
