Johann Lindner (athlete)
Johann Lindner (born May 3, 1959 in Tragail, Stockenboi ) is a former Austrian hammer thrower and bobsleigh driver .
Hammer throw
At the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1983 , he was eliminated without a valid attempt. He also failed to qualify at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
In 1986 he was eleventh at the European Athletics Championships in Stuttgart . He was tenth at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul and at the 1990 European Championships in Split .
In 1992 he was ninth at the Olympic Games in Barcelona . At the World Championships in Tokyo in 1991 and in Stuttgart in 1993 , he did not get beyond the preliminary round.
From 1981 to 1994 he was Austrian champion fourteen times in a row. On June 24, 1987, he set the current Austrian record of 79.70 m in Schwechat .
Bobsleigh
At the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, he took twelfth place in the two-man bobsleigh and tenth place in the four-man bobsleigh. At the European Bobsleigh Championships he won two medals in the four-man bobsleigh: in 1982 in Cortina d'Ampezzo bronze and in 1990 in Igls gold.
