Alexander Szelig (born  February 6, 1966 in Werdau ) is a former German bobsleigh driver . His home club was the SSV Altenberg .

He competed for the team of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) in 1988 , and for the German team a total of four times at the Winter Olympics in 1992, 1994 and 1998 , and was Olympic champion in the four-man bobsleigh at the 1994 Games in Lillehammer, together with Harald Czudaj , Karsten Brannasch and Olaf Hampel .

Also with Harald Czudaj as helmsman, he won a silver medal for the GDR at the 1990 World Championships in St. Moritz, and a bronze medal in the four-man bobsleigh for the German team in 1991 in Altenberg and 1995 in Winterberg . In addition, he was European champion in Harald Czudaj's four-man bobsleigh in 1992 in Königssee , in 1998 in Igls and in 2001 in Königssee, and third at the 1995 European Championships in Altenberg . At the European Championships in Cortina d'Ampezzo in 2002 , he won another bronze medal in the four-man bobsleigh with Matthias Benesch as helmsman.
