Sebastian Mrowka (born May 6, 1992 in Munich ) is a German bobsleigh athlete .

Career

Mrowka initially trained as a high jumper before he switched to the 100 m sprinters of his club LG Region Landshut. When he asked for a newspaper, he became aware of the pilot Philipp Mölter, who was looking for a new team of four. In 2012 he made his first trips in the ice canal. After training, he switched to bobsleigh pilot Johannes Lochner in 2014/2015 . With him, Mrowka made the leap to the national team in 2015 .

In the 2015/2016 season, Lochner's team won all races in the two-man and four-man bobsleigh and the Junior World Championship in the European Cup. As a result, Mrowka was able to qualify for the Bobsleigh World Championships in Innsbruck and became the youngest team member in 6th place.

A coach change to Thomas Prange brought the breakthrough in the A-squad and the World Cup team. In his first season, Mrowka won two World Cup races, each with the best starting times. Because of these achievements, he was allowed to register in the city of Landshut's golden sports book . He was also voted Lower Bavaria's Sportsman of the Year and Team of the Year in Berchtesgaden .

Mrowka is a member of the Stuttgart Solitude bobsleigh club .
