Martin Annen (born February 12, 1974 in Zug ) is a former Swiss bobsleigh pilot .

After a short but successful oscillating career (21 wreath gains) and awards in the Swiss National Gymnastics him leading his athletic versatility 1993 Bobsleigh . He began as a pusher in Marcel Rohner's team and in the 1996/97 season with Dominik Scherrer. Then he graduated from the bobsleigh school in St. Moritz and founded his own bobsleigh team in two and four-man bobsleigh as a helmsman. Annen succeeded in continuously working her way up to the top of the world. His greatest successes to date were the bronze medal in the two-man bobsleigh at the 2002 Winter Olympics and the two-time overall World Cup victory in the 2001/02 season.

After winning the European title in the four-man bobsleigh in 2006, he won bronze medals in both categories at the 2006 Winter Olympics . His team in the Cesana ice channel included Appenzell Beat Hefti in the two- man bobsleigh, as well as the Geneva-based Cédric Grand and the Bernese Thomas Lamparter in the four-man bobsleigh.

Due to a disagreement with the Swiss Bobsleigh Federation about the size of the sponsor advertising on the bobsleigh, Annen decided to only take part in national competitions in the 2006/07 season and to forego the upcoming World Cup for financial reasons. After winning the title at the Swiss championships on January 6th and 7th, 2007, Annen retired from racing. He prepared for his last races independently of the association and started with a sled in the red color of his sponsor Victorinox .

The trained cheese maker now works as an innkeeper and lives with his wife Cornelia and their three children in Arth SZ .
