Johannes Lochner (born October 15, 1990 in Berchtesgaden ) is a German bobsleigh athlete .

Career

Johannes Lochner has been active in bobsleigh since 2011 and made his international debut in the European Cup at the beginning of 2014 with a 2nd place in Matthias Böhmer's four-man bobsleigh in St. Moritz . The team won the silver medal at the Junior World Championships in Winterberg in February 2014 . From the 2014/15 season, Lochner started as a pilot and initially achieved very good results in the European Cup , including four wins in the two-man bobsleigh. He then made his debut in the World Cup on January 24, 2015 with a 5th place in a double in St. Moritz. After finishing 7th at the European Championships in La Plagne , he surprisingly won silver at the highlight of the season, the World Championships in Winterberg, with pusher Joshua Bluhm behind the duo Francesco Friedrich / Thorsten Margis and at the same time with Oskars Melbārdis / Daumants Dreiškens . As a member of the Germany II team, he also won the silver medal in the team competition.

In the 2015/16 season, he initially won all twelve races in the European Cup that he competed in, skipping the races in Sigulda . He then won both titles at the Junior World Championships in Winterberg. After a third and fourth place at the last European Cup in St. Moritz, he took first place in all three overall ratings - in two, four and combined. At the world championship he won silver again with Joshua Bluhm and became world champion with the team, this time with Tino Paasche .

At the European Bobsleigh Championships 2017 in Winterberg , Lochner won gold in a foursome. At the world championship in Königssee in the same year , he won gold in the four and in the team classification, as well as bronze in the two, at the same time as Francesco Friedrich.

Lochner is a member of the Stuttgart Solitude bobsleigh club .
