Carsten Embach (born October 12, 1968 in Stralsund ) is a former German bobsleigh driver and current bobsleigh trainer.

Like so many bobsledders, Embach began his career in athletics. He was the last indoor champion in the GDR in the long jump and finished fifth at the 1990 European Indoor Championships with 7.83 m.

In 1994 Embach took part in the Olympic Games for the first time and won bronze in Wolfgang Hoppe's four-man bobsleigh . In 1995 and 1997 he was world champion with Hoppe's four-man bobsleigh, and in 1996 the team received bronze. In 1998 the team could not qualify for the Olympic Games and Wolfgang Hoppe ended his athletic career.

Carsten Embach switched to the up-and-coming André Lange's team and won the world championship title again in 2000 with his four-man bobsleigh. After silver at the 2001 World Championships, the four-man bobsleigh with Lange, Embach, Enrico Kühn and Kevin Kuske won gold at the 2002 Olympic Games .

For this, he and the German bobsleigh team were awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf on May 6, 2002 .

In 2003 the team with René Hoppe instead of Enrico Kühn became world champions again. After finishing his active career, Embach became national coach in the bobsleigh and sledge association for Germany .
