Axel Kühn (bobsledder)

Axel Kühn (born June 22, 1967 in Erfurt ) is a former German bobsleigh driver . He won an Olympic silver medal in 1992 and became world champion in 1991. For this sporting success he received the silver bay leaf .

Axel Kühn began in the four-man of Volker Dietrich , with the Sarajevo he finished second at the European Championships in 1988, the other two in Bob were René Hannemann and Torsten grains . At the 1991 Bobsleigh World Championship in Cervinia Kühn sat in Wolfgang Hoppe's bobsleigh . In the line-up of Hoppe, Bogdan Musiol , Kühn and Christoph Langen , this bob won the title. For this achievement the team was rewarded with the silver bay leaf in 1993. In 1993 Hoppe, Musiol, Kühn and Hannemann won the title at the German championship for WSV Oberhof 05 . In the following year Hoppe defended the title with the crew Ulf Hielscher , Axel Kühn and Carsten Embach . At the 1994 Olympic Games , René Hannemann drove in Hoppe's four-man bobsleigh instead of Axel Kühn.
