Career

Steven Holcomb with Ivan Radcliff, Brock Kreitzburg and Curt Tomasevicz during the 2005 US elimination races in the four-man bobsleigh on the Calgary track

Curtis Tomasevicz is part of Steven Holcomb's bobsleigh team as a pusher and also starts with Mike Kohn at times . It is used in both four-man and two-man bobsleigh.

Tomasevicz made his first international appearance in the 2004/2005 Bobsleigh World Cup . In the fourth race in Igls , Austria , he narrowly missed the podium in the four-man bobsleigh with fourth place. In Cesana he again achieved a placement in the top ten. In the Bobsleigh World Cup 2005/2006 , he missed the podium in all races, but always stayed in positions around the top ten. Best place was a sixth place in Lake Placid .

In the 2006 Olympic Games of Turin he took up with Holcomb in the four and finished sixth. At the 2007 Bobsleigh World Championship in St. Moritz , he competed with Kohn in the two-man (15th) and four-man bobsleigh (16th) and in the team competition held for the first time, where he won silver with the US team behind the German team. In February 2007 he won a World Cup race in the two-man bobsleigh in Cesana Pariol for the first time.

For the 2007/08 World Cup season he was able to achieve second place in the two-man bobsleigh behind the German André Lange and Kevin Kuske in the first race in Calgary together with Holcomb . In the following World Cup in Park City he won with Holcomb. In Lake Placid, too, the two managed to finish on the podium again with third place. At the end of the season, he was fourth overall with Holcomb.

At the 2008 Bobsleigh World Championships in Altenberg , he won the bronze medal with the US team in the mixed competition. The team repeated this success the following year at the 2009 Bobsleigh World Championships in Lake Placid. He also won his first world title in this discipline with the four-man bobsleigh. He took bronze in the two-man bobsleigh.

2010 Winter Olympics

On January 15, 2010 the US federation announced that it would start at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver with a two-man and a four-man bobsleigh. He won the gold medal with the four-man bobsleigh. The following World Cup season 2010/2011 began Tomasevicz with a victory on the Olympic track in Whistler in the four-man bobsleigh. He was also able to win in Lake Placid. However, he had to admit defeat to stronger teams in all other competitions. The best placings were two third places in Königssee and Igls.

He started the 2011/12 season with Steven Holcomb's team again with rather disappointing results, which is why Tomasevicz started in the European Bobsleigh Cup at the end of the season and won the four-man bobsleigh competition in Igls.

At the 2012 Bobsleigh World Championships in Lake Placid , he won the world title in the four-man bobsleigh with Steven Holcomb's team . In the 2012/2013 Bobsleigh World Cup , Park City won the two-man bobsleigh after finishing second in the four-man bobsleigh. In Lake Placid he was again in second place with the four-man bobsleigh team.

The team had to admit defeat at the 2013 Bobsleigh World Championship in St. Moritz and ended up only third. In the team relay, the Americans won the gold medal.
