Ulrich Semrau

Ulrich Semrau (* 1962 in Bremen ) is a German conductor and trumpet soloist . He lives and works in Syke ( Diepholz district , Lower Saxony ).

Life

In 1982 Semrau began studying music at a university with a focus on trumpet and conducting , which he completed with an exam. He then continued his studies in Hanover with Bruce Rhoten and Prof. Siegfried Göthel . A private study from 1988 to 1993 in Malmö with Bo Nilsson followed. Master classes with Pierre Thibaud and Timofei Dokshitser complemented his training.

Act

  • On concert tours to Austria , Denmark , Latvia , Hungary , Canada and France , Semrau worked as a trumpet soloist and as a conductor.
  • Since 1989 he has been teaching at the district music school of the Diepholz district; since 1993 he has headed the wood and brass section there .
  • From 2001 to 2007 he was the musical director of the Bremen Symphony Orchestra Camerata Instrumentale .
  • Since 1996 he has been the director of the Classical Philharmonic NorthWest - since its foundation. This orchestra with its 50 musicians from 10 nations performs mainly in the Bremen area and in Bremen, but has also made concert tours to France , Italy and Latvia . In summer 2001, the orchestra has performed in Latvia and brought in Riga over 2,000 listeners Beethoven's 9th Symphony, which was not listed in Latvia for 25 years to be heard.
