Pierre Thibaud

Pierre Thibaud (born June 22, 1929 in Proissans , † October 29, 2004 in Paris ) was a French trumpeter and music teacher .

Life

Pierre Thibaud first studied violin and trumpet at the Conservatoire de Bordeaux before moving to the Paris Conservatory . He was the first trumpeter of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orchester de la garde républicaine . From 1966 to 1992 he was solo trumpeter at the Paris Opera and in the same position a member of the Ensemble intercontemporain from its founding in 1976.

He also taught from 1975 to 1994 as a professor of trumpet and cornet at the Paris Conservatory . His students there included u. a. Thomas Boger , Reinhold Friedrich , Håkan Hardenberger , Lars Ranch , Otto Sauter , Guido Segers , Giuliano Sommerhalder , Max Sommerhalder and Omar Tomasoni . He then taught at the Tokyo University of the Arts .

Thibaud died in his Paris apartment on October 29, 2004 and was buried on November 3.
