Guido Segers

Guido Segers (* in Bree , Belgium ) is a Belgian trumpeter.

Life

Segers studied trumpet at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels and the Royal Conservatory of Music in Liège . During his student days, both conservatories awarded him first prizes in the subjects of trumpet and chamber music . He won first prizes in the Pro Civitatae and TENUTO competitions .

From 1985 and 1990 Segers trained with Pierre Thibaud . He took master classes with Maurice André and Roger Delmotte. From 1985 to 1994 Segers was solo trumpeter at the Nationaal Orkest van België in Brussels. In 1994 he moved to the Munich Philharmonic , where he also held the position of solo trumpeter. In 2000 Guido Segers founded the International Audition Academy , which takes place periodically in Munich. Since 2012 he has been a professor for trumpet in Leipzig at the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music and Theater and also offers masterclasses in Germany and abroad.
