The Classical Philharmonic NorthWest is an orchestra in the northwest of Lower Saxony . Since it was founded in 1996, it has brought classical and romantic works of orchestral literature to a wide audience in Bremen , in the Bremen region and on international concert tours.

Characteristic

The Classical Philharmonic NorthWest was founded in 1996 under the name "The Chamber Symphony". It is made up of around 50 musicians from the Diepholz district , the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen and the surrounding area. You have taken on the maintenance of the symphonic orchestral literature, especially the Classical and Romantic periods . In addition, modern composers and concert series with baroque music are also regularly on the program.

The orchestra is characterized by great internationality. Musicians from 10 nations make music together. A group of friends supports the work of the orchestra and its conductor. The promotion and cooperation with young musicians is intensively cultivated.

Concert activity

The orchestra performs nationally and internationally on concert tours.

Orchestra leader

Director of the orchestra since its inception in 1996, who lives in Syke and working musicians Ulrich Semrau (* 1962 in Bremen). After completing his degree in music college with a focus on trumpet and conducting, and private studies in Hanover and Malmö , he worked as a trumpet soloist and conductor . Concert tours have taken him to Austria , Denmark , Latvia, Hungary , Canada and several times to France.
