Edward Rimkus

Edward William Rimkus (born August 10, 1913 in Schenectady , New York , † May 17, 1999 in Long Beach , California ) was an American bobsledder .

Rimkus studied physics at St. Lawrence University in Canton (New York) . There he was a member of the football and athletics teams. In 1938 he graduated and worked as an engineer for the General Electric concern . Rimkus only practiced bobsleigh for two years. He was part of Francis Tyler's team and qualified second in the AAU championships in 1947 for the Winter Olympics the following year. In St. Moritz he won the gold medal in the four-man bobsleigh.
