Karsten Brannasch (born August 17, 1966 in Altdöbern ) is a former German bobsleigh driver . His home club was the SSV Altenberg .
He was Olympic champion in the four-man bobsleigh at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, together with Harald Czudaj , Olaf Hampel and Alexander Szelig . In Harald Czudaj's four-man bobsleigh, he also won a silver medal for the team of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) at the 1989 European Championships in Winterberg and a bronze medal for the German team at the 1995 European Championships in Altenberg .
