Charles Bouvier
Charles Bouvier (born August 28, 1898 , † 1964 ) was a Swiss national football player and bobsleigh driver .
Soccer
Bouvier was with Servette FC Genève from the early 1920s until 1931 . The full-back was involved in three championship successes for Servette: 1924/25 , 1925/26 and 1929/30 . Bouvier also took part in Servette's first cup win in the 1927/28 season and played in the final against Grasshopper Club Zurich .
In addition to Servette, Bouvier also played in the Swiss national football team , until 1924 he had made five appearances. At the Olympic football tournament in 1924 Bouvier was part of the squad, but was not involved in any game.
Bobsleigh
After his football career, Bouvier changed his sport and became a pusher in bobsleigh. At the 1935 World Championships in Igls, he achieved second place in the four-man bobsleigh with Pierre Musy , Arnold Gartmann and Joseph Beerli behind the German bobsleigh driven by Hanns Kilian . A year later, the Swiss bobsleigh won in the same line-up as in 1935 at the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, ahead of the second Swiss bobsleigh with helmsman Reto Capadrutt . Capadrutt and Bouvier took seventh place in the two-man bobsleigh competition .
