René Hoppe

René Hoppe (born December 9, 1976 in Oelsnitz / Vogtl. ) Is a former German bobsledder and sports soldier in the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr .

René Hoppe is a sports soldier and starts for the BSR Rennsteig Oberhof . From 2000 he sat in the bobsleighs that were controlled by André Lange . He was not there at the 2002 Winter Olympics. He was also unable to travel to the 2010 Winter Olympics because of an old calf injury; for him drew Alexander Roediger by in Long Team.

For his sporting success he received the silver bay leaf .

Today Hoppe works as a trainer at BSR Oberhof. He is not related to Wolfgang Hoppe .

successes

  • At the 2000 World Championships in Altenberg, he won gold in the four-man bobsleigh and silver in the two-man bobsleigh.
  • At the 2001 World Championships in St. Moritz, he won silver in the four-man bobsleigh.
  • At the 2003 World Championships in Lake Placid, he won gold in the four-man bobsleigh.
  • At the 2004 World Championships in Königssee, he won gold in the four-man bobsleigh.
  • At the 2005 World Championships in Calgary, he won gold in the four-man bobsleigh.
  • At the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin , he won gold in the four-man bobsleigh by driver André Lange.
