Urs Salzmann (born July 3, 1954 in Regensdorf ) is a former Swiss bobsleigh athlete .

The international bobsleigh sport became aware of Salzmann in 1982 when he won gold at the Bobsleigh World Championships in St. Moritz together with Rico Freiermuth , Silvio Giobellina and Heinz Stettler . The following year he finished third with the same team at the 1983 European Bobsleigh Championships ; In 1984 and 1985 they could each win the title. Also in 1984, Salzmann won the bronze medal at the Winter Olympics in Sarajevo . After Salzmann's four-man bobsleigh finished third in the 1985 World Bobsleigh Championship, they parted ways. Salzmann and Giobellina continued to compete together and in 1988, together with Curdin Morell and Celeste Poltera, came third at the European Bobsleigh Championships . Furthermore, Salzmann was national champion five times in a row between 1981 and 1985.
