René Hannemann

René Hannemann (born October 9, 1968 in Belzig , Potsdam district ) is a former German bobsleigh driver . He won two Olympic medals and was world champion twice.

René Hannemann began in the four-man of Volker Dietrich , with that in it at the European Championships in 1988 Sarajevo took second place, the other two in Bob were Axel Kühn and Torsten grains . At the 1993 World Bobsleigh Championship in Igls, Christoph Langen won the two-man bobsleigh ahead of Gustav Weder, while Hoppe and Hannemann received the bronze medal again. At the 1994 Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Hoppe only competed in the four-man bobsleigh. With the cast of Ulf Hielscher , René Hannemann and Carsten Embach , he received the bronze medal behind Harald Czudaj and Gustav Weder. 1995 was a very successful year for Hoppe, Hielscher, Hannemann and Embach; the four-man bobsleigh became European champions in Altenberg and world champions in Winterberg . In the following year, the bobsleigh finished second behind Christoph Langen at the European championship, while Hielscher and Hannemann were absent from the 1996 world championships . For the 1997 World Bobsleigh Championship in St. Moritz, Hannemann returned to Hoppe's bobsleigh. In the line-up of Wolfgang Hoppe, Sven Rühr , René Hannemann and Carsten Embach, they won the world title again.

Hannemann received the Silver Laurel Leaf in 1993 .
