Jochen Babock (born  August 26, 1953 in Erfurt ) is a former German bobsleigh driver . His hometown club was the ASK Vorwärts Oberhof .

Starting for the team of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), he won the gold medal in the four-man bobsleigh at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, together with Meinhard Nehmer , Bernhard Germeshausen and Bernhard Lehmann . Three years later he became European champion in the four-man bobsleigh in Winterberg together with Meinhard Nehmer, Bernhard Germeshausen and Hans-Jürgen Gerhardt . For his sporting success at the Olympic Games, he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver in 1976.

He completed his studies to become a qualified sports teacher and works as an athletic trainer at the Olympic base in Munich , among others for the Snowboard Association of Germany, the German Speed ​​Skating Association, the Bavarian Judo Association, the German national hockey team for men , the SpVgg Unterhaching and hockey -Club Rot-Weiß Munich .
