Hans Leutenegger

Hans "Hausi" Leutenegger (born January 16, 1940 in Bichelsee ) is a Swiss entrepreneur, former bobsleigh driver and actor.

Life

Sports

Before Leutenegger came to bobsleigh, he was a national gymnast . In 1972 he won in the four pilot Jean Wicki at the Olympic Games in Sapporo , the gold medal .

Working life

After an apprenticeship as a construction fitter, Leutenegger worked for Sulzer AG in Winterthur and Geneva. In 1964 he worked for Bühler AG in Holland. In 1965, Leutenegger and a partner founded a company in Geneva which initially hired out fitters for short-term assignments. The business idea was a service company that made capable professionals available to customers for temporary assignments. The company Hans Leutenegger AG grew rapidly after well-known reference customers had used the services. The company later specialized in personnel services in the construction, chemical, technical and industrial sectors. It currently employs around 1,000 people and has an annual turnover of around 100 million francs. After his 50th birthday, Leutenegger gradually handed over operational responsibility for the successful company to his successor.

After 1985 Leutenegger also worked as an actor. He played in around 35 productions, including 1985 on the side of Lewis Collins , Manfred Lehmann and Klaus Kinski in Kommando Leopard . In 1988 he played with Collins and Lehmann in Der Commander . He was also seen in several Tatort episodes and one episode of the Eurocops series.

He said he had a good relationship with Kinski; this taught him a lot about acting in the early days. Because of its resemblance to Burt Reynolds , it was also known as the Burt Reynolds of the Alps . But he gave up a more intensive acting career and devoted himself all the more to his company and his family.

Private

Leutenegger is married for the second time and has a daughter and a son from his late first wife Elfriede. For his life's work and his fame far beyond the country's borders, he was granted honorary citizenship of his home town of Bichelsee-Balterswil from those entitled to vote in 2009.

Autobiography

In February 2009, Leutenegger's book A Little Happiness Was Also There was published , which he had written with the journalist Karl Wild . It was on the bestseller list in the non-fiction category for a few weeks. The book contains several anecdotes that he experienced as a farmer's son from the Bichelsee in Thurgau to the jet setter in St. Moritz . He spent regular stays at his homes in Crans-Montana , Maspalomas on Gran Canaria and Rolle VD on Lake Geneva.
