After a short detour into the communications industry, Wild started his own business in 2002. He founded the company Wild & Partner, which specializes in ghostwriting . Hotel tester

In 1997, Wild was the founder of the first Swiss hotel rating at “Bilanz” . When he left the business magazine, he took the rating with him. Since then, it has been published annually in the SonntagsZeitung under the title “The 125 best hotels in Switzerland” and is also published on the Switzerland Tourism website. Revelers of the affair Nef

On July 13 and 20, 2008, the SonntagsZeitung proved that army chief Roland Nef was involved in criminal proceedings, which led to the army chief being overthrown. His superior, Federal Councilor Samuel Schmid , later also resigned. Wild, who was in possession of all the incriminating material, started the case. In the appeal process before the Zurich Higher Court, he testified that he had not received this material from police officer Fredi Hafner. Hafner was convicted of breach of official secrecy in the first instance. The higher court and federal court upheld the judgment.

The industry magazine Schweizer Journalist honored the reporter team of the SonntagsZeitung (Karl Wild, Catherine Boss and Martin Stoll) for exposing the Nef 2008 affair as “Best Journalist Research 2008”. A year later, the three of them also received the Zurich Journalist Prize for it .
