Ulrich "Ueli" Bächli (born January 5, 1950 in Zurich , Zurich ) is a former Swiss bobsledder .

Bächli won his first international medal in 1976 when he finished second in the four-man bobsleigh at the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck . The team Erich Schärer , Rudolf Marti , Josef Benz and Bächli confirmed this success at the Bobsleigh World Championships in 1977 and 1978 . In 1979, Hansjörg Trachsel was in Bächli's Bob instead of Marti. Together they won bronze at the Bobsleigh World Cup in a four-man. At the European Championships in the same year , Bächli won the silver medal twice: in the two-man bobsleigh with Schärer and in the four-man bobsleigh with Schärer, Toni Rüegg and Trachsel. In 1980 he took part in his second Winter Olympics in Lake Placid . Once again he took second place with Schärer, Marti and Benz. In the same year he won bronze in a two-man with Schärer and gold in a four-man with Schärer, Marti and Benz at the European Bobsleigh Championships in St. Moritz . At the 1982 World Cup , Bächli finished second, and third at the 1982 European Championship , both in the two-man bobsleigh with Hans Hiltebrand .
