Sandis Prūsis (born October 24, 1965 in Ventspils ) is a former Latvian bobsleigh pilot .
Career
Sandis Prūsis took part in a total of four Winter Olympic Games : 1992 in Albertville , 1994 in Lillehammer , 1998 in Nagano and 2002 in Salt Lake City . His best results were a fifth place in the two-man bobsleigh and sixth place in the four-man bobsleigh, both in 1998. That year he was also the flag-bearer of the Latvian delegation at the opening ceremony.
In the World Cup in 1999/2000 , 2000/01 and 2002/03 he took second place in the overall ranking in the four-man bobsleigh. In 2003 he also became European champion in the four-man bobsleigh.
He ended his career as an active driver in 2003 and then coached the Italian national team from 2004 to 2006. He has coached the Latvian national team since 2007.
