Dieter Gebhard

Dieter Gebhard (born February 14, 1952 in Lindau ) is a former German hurdler , sprinter and bobsledder .

He finished sixth over 110 meter hurdles at the 1977 World Cup in Düsseldorf and eighth at the 1978 European Athletics Championships in Prague.

In 1975 , 1977 and 1980 he was German champion over 110 meter hurdles . In 1978, 1979 and 1981 he was German indoor champion over 50 and 60 meter hurdles , in 1979 he was also German indoor champion over 50 meters . With SV Salamander Kornwestheim , he was four times in a row ( 1979 , 1980, 1981 , 1982 ) German champion in the 4 x 100 meter relay .

At the 1978 World Bobsleigh Championships in Lake Placid he was sixth in the two-man bobsleigh and won the four-man bobsleigh in Königssee in 1979 . A knee injury prevented participation in the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, and the FRG boycott prevented participation in the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow .

In 1980 he was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf .

After graduating from high school, Dieter Gebhardt studied civil engineering during his sports career and has been running the sewing machine business in Lindau, which his father took over, since 1984 .
