Christoph Heyder (born June 3, 1974 in Suhl ) is a German bobsleigh driver .

Christoph Heyder is a sports soldier and has been involved in bobsleigh since 1993. Before starting his bobsleigh career, the sergeant major in the Bundeswehr was a javelin thrower. The Erfurt starts for the BRC Riesa . When he was 13, Heyder came to the KJS in Jena . It was not until 1999 that he made the leap into the national bobsleigh squad, which he had been doing since his military service. In 2000 he was seriously injured and had to stop playing for two years. First Heyder competed with Christoph Langen's bobsleigh , after whose career he drove with René Spies and now with Thomas Florschütz .

At the Junior World Championships in 1995 Heyder won silver in the foursome and in 1996 in both bobsleighs. In 1997 he won both titles at the Junior World Championships, in 1998 in a foursome. Greatest sporting achievements was participation in the 2006 Olympic Games of Turin . Here he finished fifth with Spies in the four-man bobsleigh. He won silver at the 2004 World Championships, and even gold at the European Championships in the same year. There are also fifth places in the European Championship in 1999 and 2006. He won German championship titles in 2003 in the two-man bobsleigh and in 2004, 2006 and 2007 in the four-man bobsleigh. He was runner-up in the two-man category in 2006.
