Oskars Ķibermanis (born April 4, 1993 in Valmiera ) is a Latvian bobsleigh pilot .
Career
Ķibermanis was initially active as a decathlete , before he turned to bobsleigh at the age of 18. He made his debut in the European Cup in November 2011 in Innsbruck . On January 12, 2013, he made his debut in the World Cup in Königssee , where he finished 26th in the two-man bobsleigh and 15th in the four-man bobsleigh. He started in the 2014 Winter Olympics in both two-man and four-man bobsleigh. In the two-man bobsleigh, he took 16th place with Vairis Leiboms . In the four-man bobsleigh, he reached 14th place with Leiboms, Helvijs Lūsis and Raivis Broks . Ķibermanis achieved his first podium finish in the World Cup in January 2017 in Altenberg , when he finished third in the two-man bobsleigh with Matīss Miknis . This was followed by further podium finishes in the two-man bobsleigh in the 2016/17 season , with Jānis Jansons , Matīss Miknis and Raivis Zīrups winning his first World Cup victory in the four-man bobsleigh in St. Moritz . At the European Championships in Winterberg , he won bronze with Matīss Miknis. He finished the European Championship 2018 in fourth place in the two-man bobsleigh and sixth in the four-man bobsleigh. In Pyeongchang he finished ninth in the two-man bobsleigh and tenth in the four-man bobsleigh at the 2018 Winter Olympics. At the 2018/19 World Cup he did not win, but placed second behind Francesco Friedrich in both the two-man bobsleigh and the overall standings, and came third overall in the four-man bobsleigh. In 2019 he became vice world champion and vice European champion in the four-man bobsleigh .
