The USOC Athlete of the Year is an annual award in the United States for exceptional performance in the field of sports.

The United States Olympic Committee (USOC), the National Olympic Committee of the United States, has presented several awards annually since 1974 for the best male, female and disabled athletes from the USOC member organizations.

The best teams have been honored since 1996.

Award winners

The swimmer Michael Phelps received an award for the fourth time in 2016. The swimmer Katie Ledecky received the award for the third time in 2017. In 2010, ski racer Lindsey Vonn was named Sportswoman of the Year for the second time in a row. The swimmer Katie Hoff was named "Athlete of the Year" in 2005 and 2007.

The cyclist Lance Armstrong received four awards between 1999 and 2003. After he was stripped of all titles won after August 1, 1998 by the US anti-doping agency, he confessed to doping abuse in 2013.
