Norway's Sportsperson of the Year ( Norwegian Sportsjournalistenes statuett or Årets Idrettsnavn ) is an award that has been presented annually since 1948 by the Norske Sportsjournalisters Forbund (NSF), the Norwegian Sports Journalists Association (founded in 1921). Norway's best athlete of the past calendar year is determined, with men, women, teams and coaches competing against each other. The NSF members act as jurors and vote directly on their favorites. The result is usually announced in late December / early January. The award ceremony will take place the following spring.

In the last election for the sporting year 2017, hurdler Karsten Warholm (110 points) won ahead of long-distance runner Sondre Nordstad Moen (18) and ice hockey player Mats Zuccarello (15).
