Ingrid Kristiansen (born Christensen ; born March 21, 1956 in Trondheim ) is a former Norwegian long-distance runner and cross-country skier .

As a cross-country skier, Kristiansen started internationally for the first time in 1973 at the European Junior Championships in Kawgolowo and won the silver medal with the relay. The following year she won the gold medal with the relay at the European Junior Championships in Autrans and the bronze medal with the relay in Lieto in 1975 . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 1978 , she achieved 21st place over 5 km. In addition, she was Norwegian champion five times in a row from 1971 to 1975 with the relay of Sports Club Freidig and in 1977, 1978 and 1980 with the relay of Strindheim IL .

At the World Athletics Championships in Rome in 1987 Kristiansen won over 10,000 meters. In 1986 and 1989 she won the Boston Marathon , and in 1989 the New York City Marathon . In 1985 she set a world record at the London Marathon (2:21:06 h), which lasted almost 13 years until Tegla Loroupe broke it at the 1998 Rotterdam Marathon . Kristiansen took two more victories in London (1987 and 1988).

On the track , Kristiansen set three world records over 5000 meters and two over 10,000 meters , on the road world records over 10 km, 15 km, half marathon and marathon. She took part in the athletics competitions of the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and 1988 in Seoul. In 1984 she started on the marathon course and, after having been part of the leading group for a long time, finished the run in fourth place in the fast time of 2:27:34 h. In 1988 she started on the 10,000-meter course , but could not successfully finish the final with 31: 44.69 minutes as the leader.

In 1986 and 1987 Kristiansen won the Norwegian Sportswoman of the Year award , and in 1986 the Morgenbladet gold medal .

Ingrid Kristiansen is now a member of the IAAF Cross Country & Road Running Committee and Vice President of the Norwegian Runners Association.
