Terje Pedersen
Terje Pedersen (born February 9, 1943 in Oslo ) is a former Norwegian athlete who appeared as a javelin thrower in the early 1960s . He broke two world records and was the first to break the 90-meter mark in 1964.
World records:
- July 1, 1964 in Oslo : 87.12 m, achieved in the 5th attempt
- September 2, 1964 in Oslo : 91.72 m, achieved in the international match between Norway and Czechoslovakia after two invalid attempts and a safety throw of 78 m. This world record lasted for four years.

Terje Pedersen took part in two Olympic Games but was unlucky. In 1960 in Rome , the 17-year-old qualified for the preliminary fight with a throw of 74.77 m, but then had to give up injured. Four years later, in Tokyo in 1964 , the world record holder did not even qualify with 72.10 m, an indisputable one for him. After this disappointment, he ended his sporting career.
In 1964 he won the election for Norway's Sportsman of the Year and the Morgenbladet gold medal .
Terje Pedersen is a dentist by profession. He is 1.92 m tall and had a competition weight of 93 kg.
