Reidar Hjermstad (born October 10, 1937 in Elverum ) is a former Norwegian cross-country skier .

Career

Hjermstad, who started for the Hernes IL , finished 16th at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Zakopane in 1962 over 30 km. In March 1962 he came second over 50 km at the Holmenkollen Ski Festival . The following year he won the Lahti Ski Games over 15 km and over 50 km. For this he received the Aftenposten gold medal and was athlete of the year . In the same year he won fourth place in the 50 km run at the Holmenkollen Ski Festival and second place at the Svenska Skidspelen in Falun with the relay. At the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble , he came in 17th place over 15 km and eighth place over 50 km. In March 1971 he took third place over 50 km at the Lahti Ski Games. In the same year he received the Holmenkollen Medal . When he last participated in the Olympics in February 1972 in Sapporo , he came fourth over 50 km. At Norwegian championships he won twice over 15 km (1963, 1968), twice over 50 km (1964, 1969) and in 1967 with the relay of Hernes IL.
