Dag Fornæss (born June 30, 1948 in Hamar ) is a former Norwegian speed skater .
Fornæss won the all- around world champion in Deventer in 1969 . In the same year he also won the European Championship and ran a world record over 3000 meters. In 1971 he was able to become European champion again. For his success he was awarded the Oscar Mathisen Memorial Trophy . He also won the election for Norway's Sportsman of the Year .
His grandfather Engebret Skogen won at the Olympic Games in 1912 in Stockholm a bronze medal in shooting.
