Jan Blokhuijsen (born April 1, 1989 in Zuid-Scharwoude ) is a Dutch speed skater who specializes in long distance and team competitions.

In 2007 and 2008, Blokhuijsen won a total of three world titles in the junior division. He was successful twice in team competition and once in all-around competition.

Blokhuijsen took part in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver . In the team competition he won the bronze medal together with Sven Kramer and Mark Tuitert .

Blokhuijsen achieved his greatest success so far at the 2012 World Cup in Heerenveen , where he also won the gold medal in the team competition together with Sven Kramer and Koen Verweij . With the same line-up, they successfully defended their title at the 2013 World Cup in Sochi .

Blokhuijsen studies history at the University of Groningen .
