The Speed Skating World Cup 2009/10 was held for women and men at seven World Cup stations in five countries. In the Olympic season, the opening runs began on November 6th, 2009, like last year in Berlin . The World Cup season ends on March 14, 2010 with the final in Heerenveen . Here the women run distances from 500 to 5000 meters and the men from 500 to 10,000 meters.

The 100 meter sprint elimination introduced in the 2003/04 season was removed from the program again.
