Note on the all-around distances for women

From 1949 to 1955, records were recorded over the route combinations 500, 3000, 1000 and 5000 meters. In 1955, the ISU decided to no longer allow the 5000 meter route for women’s competitions. The old one was converted into the route combination of 500, 1500, 1000 and 3000 meters, today's “Little Four Fight” for women.

In 1982, after the recognition of the 5000 meter route, a new route combination for the "Great Four Fight" with the sections 500, 3000, 1500 and 5000 meters was introduced.
