List of the fastest speed skating rinks in the world

Standard 400 meter oval
This list shows the ten fastest speed skating rinks in the world. Only ice rinks with the internationally standardized route of 400 meters are taken into account. Small differences result from different curve radii (inner curve: 25.0 / 25.5 / 26.0 meters) and the width of the track. This also changes the radii of the outer curves and the lengths of the two straight lines. Adjusting the straight lines ensures that a lap - consisting of an inner curve, an outer curve, a straight line and an alternating straight line - is always exactly 400 meters.
The term "fastest track in the world" in speed skating should be viewed relatively. The summary of the track records can also be done according to other criteria and the ranking can change over time. High- altitude open-air rinks such as the Davos ice rink used to be able to benefit from their high altitude and were among the fastest.
A total number of points is calculated for each speed skating rink. It consists of the track records of the individual distances run in international competitions for men (500, 1000, 1500, 5000, 10,000 meters) and women (500, 1000, 1500, 3000, 5000 meters). As with the calculation of the total number of points in the all- around competition , the times are broken down to 500 m and added up.
* Sum of the individual routes for women broken down to 500 m (500, 1000, 1500, 3000 and 5000 meters)
** Sum of the individual routes for men broken down to 500 m (500, 1000, 1500, 5000 and 10,000 meters)
*** Sum of on 500 m broken down individual routes for men and women
