The Adler Arena ( Russian Адлер-Арена ) is an ice rink in Adler , Krasnodar , Russia . The speed skating competitions of the 2014 Winter Olympics were held in the hall, around 35 kilometers from the center of Sochi .
The hall is located in the Olympic Park (Coastal Cluster) directly on the Black Sea at a height of 5 m . It was opened in 2012 and resembles an iceberg or the icefall of a glacier. The dress rehearsal of the technique took place in December 2012 with the national championships in sprint and all-round all-round competitions. In March 2013, the ISU World Single Distance Championships were held internationally .
