The Zetra ice rink ( Bosnian Klizalište Zetra ) was an outdoor artificial ice rink next to the Juan Antonio Samaranch Olympic Hall in the Bosnian capital Sarajevo .

history

The track was built in 1981 and 1982 and opened in 1983 with the Junior World Championships . As part of the 1984 Winter Olympics , Karin Enke set a new world record over 1500 meters on the track. A year and a day later, Andrea Schöne ran again to a new world record at the speed skating all- around world championship in 1985 over 5000 meters. Six years later, the 1991 European speed skating all- around championship was held on the Zetra ice rink and the track was closed in the following year after the start of the Bosnian War . In the meantime, a soccer field has been built inside the track.
