The 14th individual distance world championship was held from March 22nd to 25th, 2012 in the Thialf Hall in Heerenveen .

Attendees

Up to 24 athletes took part in the individual disciplines, only 16 athletes were allowed over 5000 m for women and 10,000 m for men. Eight teams were each qualified for the team pursuit. In total, athletes from 22 nations were able to qualify.
