Pekka Koskela (born November 29, 1982 in Mänttä ) is a Finnish speed skater . He specializes in the sprint courses.

Pekka Koskela started speed skating when she was seven . In 2000, at the age of 15, he won a bronze medal at the Junior World Championships, and the following year he ran a junior world record in the 500 meters. His first major success in the senior category was third place over 1000 meters at the 2005 World Championships in Inzell. He holds the outdoor world record over the 100 meters. At the beginning of the 2007/08 season he also set a world record over 1000 meters in Salt Lake City . At the Sprint World Championships in Hamar in 2007, he won the silver medal.

Koskela is a student at Helsinki University of Technology (TKK) and starts for the club Seinäjoen Urheilija .
