Håvard Bøkko (born February 2, 1987 in Hønefoss ) is a Norwegian speed skater . He is the brother of the speed skater Hege Bøkko . For many years he has been seen as a promising talent with similar young talent results as Sven Kramer , Gianni Romme and Eric Heiden .

successes

In November 2005 he reached three junior world records within two weeks. On November 5th he ran the 3000 m in 3: 43.66 minutes, on November 13th the 5000 m in 6: 18.93 minutes. and on November 18th the 1500 m in 1: 46.07 min. Currently (January 18, 2006) he is ranked 12th in the speed skating nobility calendar.

At the Junior World Championship in Erfurt in 2006 , he clearly took first place. In the same year Håvard was sixth in the all-round world championship for seniors.

After his move to the seniors in the 2006/2007 season, Håvard was able to build on his successes with the juniors almost without any problems. At the World Cup in February 2007 he finished 4th and a year later he fought an exciting duel with Sven Kramer at the World Cup in Berlin and finally came 2nd.

At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, he won the 1,500 m with a time of 1: 46.13 minutes. the bronze medal. The following year he won his first gold medal over 1,500 m in a thrilling duel with Shani Davis in a time of 1: 45.05 min at the 2011 World Single Distance Championships in Inzell .
