Bøkko, who competes for Hol IL , started speed skating at the age of six . In 2008 the Norwegian competed in the Speed Skating World Cup for the first time. Bøkko gained her first successes at the Norwegian Individual Distance Championships in 2009. She won the titles over 500 and 1000 meters as well as bronze over 1500 and 5000 meters. Then she took part a little later in the speed skating junior world championships 2009 in Zakopane , where she managed to win the silver medal over the 1000-meter distance. The following year she won the titles over 500 and 1000 meters again at the Norwegian Championships and also secured the over 1500 meters. In Hamar she also won bronze over the 3000 meters.
At the all around world championships 2010 in Heerenveen , 13th place in the overall ranking was Bøkko's best result. In addition, she set two new Norwegian junior records over 500 meters with 39.46 seconds and over 3000 meters with 4.14.90 and thus at the same time new personal bests. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , she was tenth over the 1000 meters before she finished 14th over 1500 meters. Since the 2010/2011 season, Bøkko has been part of the A group in the Speed Skating World Cup .
At the speed skating sprint world championship 2011 in Heerenveen, she reached 25th place over the 500-meter distance. Over 100 meters she was at the end of the same time with the Japanese Maki Tsuji on rank 16. Over 1500 meters she finished the world championship in ninth place. Bøkko also took part again in the speed skating junior world championships 2011 in Seinäjoki and won silver over 1000 meters behind Karolína Erbanová and bronze over 1500 meters.
At the Norwegian Championships in 2011, Bøkko did not live up to her role as a favorite for the first time and did not win a title. Only the silver medals over 1000 and 1500 meters and bronze over 500, 3000 and 5000 meters could be won. Also in 2012 she remained without a national medal. At the speed skating world championship 2012 in Moscow , Bøkko ran in 12th place over 500 meters. Over 1500 she ran in 13th place before she landed in 19th place over the 3000 meters.
At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , Bøkko only came in a disappointing 33rd place over 1500 meters. In the team pursuit over six laps, she and her team members finished seventh in the end. Before that, at the speed skating sprint world championship in Nagano in 2014, she only managed to finish 24th and last twice over the 500 meters. Over 1000 meters she finished 19 and 17. At the Norwegian Championships in the same year, Bøkko secured silver over the 1000 meter distance. She also won bronze over 500 meters.
