Uruguayan Ministry of Transport and Construction

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works (Spanish Ministerio de Transporte y Obras Públicas ) (MTOP) is one of the ministries of the State of Uruguay .

His tasks include planning and developing the public infrastructure. The Ministry has been under this name since July 11, 1974, when, following a restructuring of powers through Law 14.218 , the Ministerio de Transporte, Comunicaciones y Turismo , created under the Presidency of Óscar Gestidos , was abolished and the scope of duties with that of the Ministerio de Obras Públicas (MOP) was merged. The ministry has been headed by Enrique Pintado since March 1, 2010 . State Secretary is Pablo Genta .
